Today Microsoft, Yahoo, IBM, VeriSign, and Google have joined the OpenID Foundation as board members.

at The Next Web.

These are definitely joyous news. I bet the guys from OpenID are right now in their evil headquarters thinking: “Jesus, I still can’t believe they bought it…” .

I, for one, thank these major corps. by lowering their weapons and accept this obviously better alternative. Use OpenID!

Is the Android Paranoid?

There’s been a lot of buzz on the web around Android, Google’s latest bet on mobile devices. Some think it’s great, others not so much.

As for Scobble’s rant, I don’t get it. I know this is a tiny response to a huge set of arguments, but: as we’ve seen before, it’s not what it is that matters, it’s what it does (or in this case, will do), for example. And boy, does this platform looks promising. So, I’d rather wait to see what’s coming towards us than to take the project down already.

I already downloaded the SDK and had a little bit of fun on the emulator. They provide a nice consistent SDK and also lots of examples as well as their source-code. Maybe I’ll make some apps for it later.

Summer Of Code 2007

SOC2007

Google has started accepting student applications for this year’s Summer Of Code.

Here’s the deal: you (students only) commit yourself into developing in a Free / Open source project, and Google will sponsor it and pay you $4.500, and $500 for the correspondent mentoring organization. Isn’t it great? I myself am applying to a couple of projects and hope for one of them to be selected.
